Titusville Library 2021 Spring Fairy House Contest!
During the month of March leprechauns and fairies go exploring for new homes in our backyards, gardens and forest paths. So why not build them an amazing Fairy House? And maybe even win a prize for it, too!
Two Contests! One for Adults 18+ and one for Children age 17 and under. Houses will be judged by library staff based on creativity and how well natural and repurposed objects are incorporated into the design. Here are the guidelines:
Use mostly natural materials (like sticks, bark, pinecones, shells, and pebbles) and materials that are durable outdoors (paper materials won’t stand up to rain).
Repurposed materials can be used for a base (like flower pots, cans and jars) and as accents (like bottle caps, buttons, and corks).
Use a sturdy base, like a plant saucer or plywood, so the houses can be moved.
Be as creative as you like! You can even add a Fairy Garden around your house.
Maximum dimensions 16” by 16” wide and 24” high.
Fill out an entry form to include with your Fairy House submission.
Drop off your Fairy House at the Titusville Library Youth Services Department on Monday – Tuesday, March 22-23 9am-8pm
Houses will be on display for one week before winners are announced on Monday, March 29th. A winner for each age group will be awarded a $20 Amazon Gift Card!
If you want to keep your Fairy House, please pick up by Friday, April 2nd. After this date, we will display all leftover houses outside the window in the Youth Services Department or along our Garden Path for the fairies to use!
