The Downtown Art Gallery announces their October Spotlight Artist, Linda Krupp. Linda has been painting for 30 years.  She is acclaimed for her traditional oil paintings with attention to details.  She is also a master of palette knife painting with its broad areas of color and texture. She is currently experimenting with Encaustic painting, an ancient technique that combines beeswax, damar varnish, and colored pigments. Heat is used to fuse or burn the colors onto the painting surface.

Linda divides her time between Titusville and Asheville, North Carolina.  These diverse areas inspire her art with subjects ranging from tropical scenes and marine creatures, to landscapes reflecting her rural North Carolina heritage complete with rustic barns and farm animals.

Linda has a distinguished background as an educator with a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.  She taught at Merritt Island High and then worked in faculty development at Brevard Community College.  After retiring she became a student again, taking every opportunity to take an art class to perfect her techniques.  Now she teaches painting at her home studio and in Asheville.  You can see examples of her work on her website:  lindakrupp.com

Linda’s work can be seen at the Downtown Art Gallery , 335 S Washington Ave in historic downtown Titusville during their regular hours: Monday through Friday from 11 am to 5 pm and Saturdays  11 am to 3pm. For more information call 321-268-0122 or visit their Facebook page.
