SAVE THE DATE FOR OUR 3RD ANNUAL INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE HOSTED BY THE BREVARD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE CHARITY AND THE VETERAN’S MEMORIAL CENTER
Please join us on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 as we celebrate our country’s independence with the return of our Independence Day “Static” Parade!!
Last year as a result of COVID-19 we started doing the Independence Day Parade as a static parade along S.R. 520. What started as as a way to get around the pandemic ended up being a great idea so we are doing it the same way this year even though the restrictions of COVID-19 are primarily behind us here in the state of Florida.
So basically instead of having our citizens line the streets so the parade can pass by them, we are going to once again have the parade line the street and let our citizens drive past it with their cars and passengers displaying patriotic apparel and signage to show our community’s passion for the United States of America!!
All of the floats and parade participants will be on static display along S.R. 520 near the Merritt Island Mall for everyone to drive by and enjoy while staying comfortably in their cars in the air conditioning so citizens of all ages can enjoy the excitement and patriotism of the 4th of July!!
Since the 4th is on a Sunday this year we are going to hold the parade on Saturday out of respect for Sunday Morning Church services as we want everyone to have an opportunity to join us to celebrate the independence of our great nation!!
To put a float or group in the parade please contact the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office Charity by calling Executive Director Lindsey Deaton at (321) 505-8752.
I hope everyone will join us as parade and float participants so that we put on the best parade ever here in Brevard County!!
