The Studios of Cocoa Beach continues its series of mini solo exhibitions.  Each exhibition features Florida artists, highlighting the best of each artist’s current work. This month’s artists are painters Kenan Sari and Delia Swenson. You can view the exhibition the entire month of February at the gallery, 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach
.
Kenan Sari was born in Turkey and as a youth began his artistic journey creating cartoons like his brother, a famous cartoonist . In high school he began doing portraits and first exhibited as a university freshman. Trained as an engineer, this work gave him opportunities to travel but he always continued to paint. In addition to exhibiting he created an art club at his workplace and taught local children.
Now living in Orlando, Kenan is known for his mixed media works , sometimes combining all three types of paint: acrylic, oils and watercolors. He prefers strong r natural colors such as orange and turquoise with the aim of creating a semi-abstract image.
Delia Swenson of Cocoa Beach is an accomplished painter who began painting in oils in 2009.  While she paints many varied themes, this exhibit highlights her talent for translating nature to the canvas.  Each piece evokes a unique mood.  Her red poppies are full of energy, seeming to jump off the canvas. In contrast, the texture and subtlety of her white flowers evoke calm and serenity.
The Studios of Cocoa Beach is a non-profit gallery, home to 35 local artists working in a variety of mediums. The Studios is open most days Wednesday through Sunday and Monday or Tuesday by appointment. Please visit, www.studiosofcocoabeach.org for more information and to confirm hours.
