Each spring the Central Brevard Art Association awards a scholarship to a deserving Central Brevard County high school senior.  Its 17th annual Student Scholarship recipient is Blue Dunsworth from Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School.  The Studios of Cocoa Beach and Ridley’s Custom Framing of Palm Bay have teamed up to present an exhibit of Blue’s work.  The one man show will be on exhibit throughout the month of June at the Studios’ gallery, 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach

Blue is an athlete as well as an artist, having participated in football and track and field.  He is an honors and AP student and has been offered scholarships at several art schools and universities.  He plans to attend the University of Florida and major in Fine Art. No matter where that leads, he will also continue to do freelance art work.

In making their decision, the CBAA found his art to be insightful and intuitive and cited his use of color to provoke emotion and thought. Blue says Art is his passion and his sanctuary. He finds he is influenced by the people he meets and by the effects emotion has on himself and others.   His work is both Realism and Surrealism using a variety of mediums such as acrylic, graphite, watercolors, charcoal and colored pencils, often combining several.

A selection of his work, professionally mounted by Ridley’s Custom Framing  will be on exhibit at the Studios of Cocoa Beach from June 1 to June 30, 2021. The gallery is open Wednesday through Saturday 9 am to 7 pm and Sunday 10 am to 3 pm. For information on the Central Brevard Art Association visit their website www.cbaaartists.com
